Pekanbaru (Catra Media) — Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo was awarded the “Ingatan Budi” Traditional Honor by the Riau Malay Cultural Council (LAM Riau) during a solemn cultural ceremony held at the LAM Riau Hall in Pekanbaru on Saturaday (July 12).

The award was presented in recognition of General Listyo’s contributions to national security, his leadership in addressing forest and land fires, and his humanistic approach to law enforcement in the Malay heartland of Riau.

Chairman of LAM Riau’s Daily Executive Board, Datuk Seri Taufik Ikram Jamil, described the honor as a tribute to the deeply rooted moral values in Malay culture. “Ingatan Budi is not merely memory—it is a moral awareness that fosters empathy, respect, and noble conduct,” he said.

In his remarks, General Listyo expressed gratitude and viewed the award as a moral mandate. “This honor serves as a reminder that every step taken by the National Police must remain grounded in integrity and sincerity,” he stated.

Riau Governor Abdul Wahid emphasized that the recognition reflects the strong synergy between cultural tradition and the state. “This traditional tribute to the National Police Chief signifies how adat and the nation can walk hand-in-hand to uphold dignity, security, and peace across the Malay lands,” he said.
